Our work · Pillar
Communities

Strong communities keep young people safe and families healthy. NMF supports the charities that do this work, and builds what is missing where the need is greatest.
In the United Kingdom
Centrepoint is the UK's leading youth homelessness charity. BoxWise runs its programme inside Centrepoint services around the country, and NMF is a Centrepoint donor.
Nick Maughan also supports StreetDoctors, which teaches young people how to save a life after a stabbing, and Berkshire Youth Trust.
NMF has supported Womb Transplant UK for many years, and Nick Maughan is a patron of the charity.
In Eastern Uganda
With Spotlight on Africa, NMF has built and fully funds the Nick Maughan Maternity Centre in Mbale, beside the NMF Medical Centre, a drop-in clinic for the Namatala slum. It has also funded many fresh-water wells and a women's sewing centre.
Programmes in Communities

Centrepoint
Centrepoint is the UK's leading youth homelessness charity. The Prince of Wales is its Patron and BoxWise runs its programme inside Centrepoint services around the country.

StreetDoctors
StreetDoctors is an award-winning national charity which trains over 20,000 young people affected by violence each year, in the physical and psychological consequences of street violence, and develops their confidence and willingness to protect themselves and others. All the training is delivered in partnership with a range of youth organisations, and we believe in supporting a multi-agency approach to address community challenges which brings together partners' unique strengths and skills.
Centre for Social Justice
The Centre for Social Justice is an independent think tank that develops policy to tackle the root causes of poverty in the UK. Nick Maughan is a trustee of the CSJ Foundation, its charitable arm, where he is closely involved in every part of its work alongside the senior team.

The Nick Maughan Maternity Centre
Life in Mbale, Eastern Uganda, is hard, and clinics are scarce. With Spotlight on Africa, NMF has built and fully funds the Nick Maughan Maternity Centre, where every part of a mother's care is free. Nick Maughan is a regular visitor to Mbale, where he oversees the work in person.

Berkshire Youth Trust
For generations Berkshire Youth Trust has run clubs and projects that help young people in Berkshire make the move into adult life.

Womb Transplant UK
Womb Transplant UK has spent decades developing transplantation for women born without a womb or who have lost one. NMF has supported the work for many years, and Nick Maughan is a patron of the charity.
Our other pillars
Sport
We found and fund youth sport programmes for young people at risk of exclusion, violence and homelessness. BoxWise in the UK and the Bahamas Boxing Academy in Nassau are among our projects.
Education
We fund bursaries, build schools and support research that widens opportunity for young people.
Environment
We support wildlife conservation across Africa and coral restoration in the Caribbean.
