StreetDoctors

StreetDoctors is an award-winning national charity which trains over 20,000 young people affected by violence each year, in the physical and psychological consequences of street violence, and develops their confidence and willingness to protect themselves and others. All the training is delivered in partnership with a range of youth organisations, and we believe in supporting a multi-agency approach to address community challenges which brings together partners' unique strengths and skills.
StreetDoctors works with young people to co‑design violence reduction initiatives, grounded in the belief that young people have both the capability and the responsibility to act in moments of crisis. This approach empowers them to become part of the solution, strengthening community leadership and supporting a public health response to street violence.
Nick Maughan became StreetDoctors' first Patron in May 2023. StreetDoctors is a partner of BoxWise, and the two charities work side by side against knife crime.

“I would like to express our thanks to Nick Maughan and the Nick Maughan Foundation for their incredible generosity, belief and unwavering support of StreetDoctors over the years. Nick's contribution has extended far beyond financial support, with his valuable advice, guidance, encouragement and personal commitment, which has been a genuine source of inspiration to me and the wider charity. As a Patron of StreetDoctors, Nick has demonstrated what it truly means to invest in young people, recognise their potential and champion positive social change. His support has helped us further develop our mission to empower young people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to save lives, challenge the impact of violence and become part of the solution to ending street violence across the UK. I am personally grateful for Nick's friendship, trust and continued belief in our mission, and for his commitment to helping us create a future where young people are empowered to make their communities safer.”
“Youth violence is one of the most pressing social issues in the UK today and StreetDoctors provides young people likely to be close to such events with the tools to act as first responders in emergencies.”
