Who we are
This website, nmf.org, presents the work of the Nick Maughan Family Foundation. The foundation is a donor-advised fund at NPT UK, a registered charity in England and Wales (charity number 1181128). The Nick Maughan Family Foundation operates this website and is responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach us about privacy with a message to the founder on Instagram; the Contact page has the link.
What this website does not do
We do not set cookies, show advertising, or follow you across other websites. We do not sell or share personal data for marketing. You can read every page without giving us any information about yourself.
Information we collect and why
- Visit statistics. We count how the website is used: which pages are visited, which site a visitor came from, the type of browser and device, the country, and the screen size. We use Umami (umami.is), a privacy-focused analytics service. It sets no cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not identify individual visitors; we see only totals. We use these figures to understand which parts of the foundation's work people read about and to report on the website's reach. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the website. Umami keeps its data in the United States and Germany.
- Server logs. Like every website, the server that delivers our pages records basic technical details of each visit (the IP address, the page requested, the time and the browser type) in server logs. We use these only to keep the site secure and working. Logs are kept for 30 days and then deleted. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
Who else sees your data
We use two service providers ("processors") who act only on our instructions: our hosting provider, DigitalOcean, in the United Kingdom (London), which stores the website and its server logs; Umami, which processes the anonymous visit statistics described above. Where a provider is outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards the UK GDPR allows for such transfers.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113). Contact us through the Contact page and we will respond within one month.
Links to other websites
Our pages link to partner organisations, news articles about the foundation's work, and the founder's Instagram profile. Following a link takes you to that site; nothing from those sites is loaded into our pages. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices; please read their own notices.
Videos. Some pages show films hosted on YouTube or Vimeo. Nothing is loaded from either service until you press play. When you do, a YouTube film plays from YouTube's privacy-enhanced service (youtube-nocookie.com) and a Vimeo film from Vimeo's player with its "do not track" setting, and the service's own privacy policy applies to that viewing.
Children
This website is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top.
