Boxwise

BoxWise was founded by Nick Maughan with his long time friend Rick Ogden. It was fully funded by NMF in its early years as it expanded to operate in over fifty venues globally. Since then it has received funding from several generous philanthropists including leading boxing promoter Frank Warren.

Working to empower disadvantaged young people through sport, BoxWise is a charity that helps vulnerable young people to build confidence, improve their health and wellbeing and maximise all opportunities around them.

Eastern Uganda

Developing and financing infrastructure projects in the Mbale district in collaboration with operating partners at Harpenden Spotlight on Africa and PEAS, we are building schools and medical facilities to give the local people the infrastructure that they need for a better future. We are very grateful to the Ugandan government for the great help that we have received in doing so.

Tusk

We are a dedicated supporter of Tusk, having donated substantially in support of its progressive conservation initiatives across Africa. The charity, which has Prince William as its Royal Patron, has helped pioneer an impressive range of successful conservation projects across more than 20 countries. These initiatives have not only increased vital protection for more than 40 different threatened species, but also helped to alleviate poverty through sustainable development and education amongst rural communities living alongside wildlife.

Centrepoint

Centrepoint’s mission is to end UK youth homelessness by the end of 2037, and to ensure that the next generation are free from homelessness. Centrepoint provides more than just a safe place for homeless young people to sleep. Through the insights from its services, Centrepoint campaigns, influences and orchestrates systemic change. NMF is a repeat donor to the charity, BoxWise is a Centrepoint partner operating its courses at Centrepoint facilities nationally and NMF looks forward to doing more with the charity for the long term.
Having been born and raised in London, our founder maintains a passion for helping those with the least advantage there to improve their circumstances. On Christmas Eve 2023 he slept rough alone in Soho to raise additional funds for the charity.

Make My Money Matter

The Nick Maughan Family Foundation is proud to have supported the work of Make My Money Matter (MMMM). MMMM was a people-powered campaign fighting for a world where the public has the knowledge to align their pensions, savings, and investments with their values relating to climate change and the environment. It closed down in 2024, but its impact lives on through more responsible climate linked investing by major institutions globally.

Charlie Miller Football Academy

The academy aims to bring together disadvantaged young people across Scotland to play football and develop their skills on and off the pitch through coaching and mentoring, which is in line with the Nick Maughan Family Foundation’s mission to support initiatives that benefit communities, the environment and education efforts across the globe.

Putney High School

The Nick Maughan Family Foundation is proud to provide full bursaries for children from low-income families to attend some of the world’s best schools, as part of the Foundation’s ongoing work to narrow the educational attainment gap between wealthy and disadvantaged students. Putney High School is a highly academic girls’ school in South West London which provides pupils with an exceptional education. NMF has funded scholarships for girls there since 2020.

Berkshire Youth Trust

Berkshire Youth Trust provides leading youth support services and a wide variety of engaging projects to help vulnerable young people make successful transitions to adulthood. The Nick Maughan Family Foundation is proud to support the Berkshire Youth Trust in its essential work by contributing to the construction of their Waterside Centre. Located in Newbury, this state of the art ‘Inspired Facility’ provides a range of activities including, rock climbing, dancing, canoeing and vocational training.

RugbyWorks

Dallaglio RugbyWorks is a not-for-profit organisation working with young people aged between 12-18 who are experiencing school exclusion to help support them realise their full potential for the future. Using four cornerstones for our delivery: developing life skills, raising aspirations, improving physical wellbeing and focusing on mental wellbeing, they are able to use rugby as an engagement tool to build trusted adult relationships.
